FAQ information in this section also applies to IEKioskBuilder (wherever applicable).

1. Why do I need PocketKiosk Builder?
PocketKiosk Builder can block ActiveSync, Autorun, Hardware buttons, Installation of programs, and launching of unwanted applications on a Windows Mobile device. See more details here.
2. On what operating systems, is PocketKiosk supported?
PocketKiosk is supported on Windows Mobile 6.1, Windows Mobile 6, Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 2003 SE and Pocket PC 2002 based devices.
3. I want to run an application in kiosk mode. I do not know application name and the path where it is located on the device. How can I determine application's full path?
Yes. PocketKiosk Builder has a feature which makes it very easy to determine name and path of any application on your Windows Mobile PDA. Read here for more details.
4. I click on Exit Kiosk Mode , Get Windows Information buttons on the Device Controller screen but I get a message saying "Operation Failed! Probably because of security policy on the device". How can I resolve this problem?
The error message indicates that the security configuration on the device is restricting the operation. To resolve this you can temporarily turn off the RAPI security setting. You can download a tool PKSecurity.exe from here .

Procedure:

1. Establish ActiveSync connection and copy PKSecurity.exe  to a folder on the PDA.
2. Launch PKSecurity.exe on the device.
3. Click "Disable" button to turn off the RAPI security on the device.
4. Reset the device and Establish ActiveSync connection again.

Now launch PocketKiosk Builder again, go to Device Controller screen and click on the button on which the failure occurred earlier. With RAPI security disabled, you should be able to use these features. Once done, use PKSecurity.exe to enable the RAPI security again. This tool is for test purposes only.
5. I have a requirement to run Pocket IE in fullscreen kiosk mode. Whats the best way to solve this problem?
We have another product called IEKioskBuilder which is specifically developed for running Pocket IE in fullscreen kiosk mode. IEKioskBuilder provides many other options to customize PIE in Pocket PC 2002 and 2003, such as removing menu bar or removing individual menu items. See more details about it here
6. I can instruct PocketKiosk to disable all hardware buttons on the PDA. There is 1 button that should remain unlocked, for e.g. a button to enable/disable WiFi connection. Is it possible to just enable this 1 hardware button?
To enable a specific hardware button on the PDA:
1. Build a PocketKiosk package and install it on the device.
2. When the device soft-resets automatically, exit the kiosk mode when the admin login screen pops up.
3. Now Go to Start -> Settings -> Button screen. Here you can reassign the Wi-Fi reset/enable/disable functionality (or anything else that you want).
4. Now soft-reset the device and let the device launch the target application in kiosk mode.
